To ENCOURAGE women to pursue and establish their careers in the construction industry; and
To PROVIDE members an awareness of the legislative process and legislation as it relates to the construction industry.

 Chapter Prayer:

Our Father, Master Builder of the Universe, take us into thy special care, for we also build in our way.

Grant that our work may be well done; and endure after we are gone, Give us real friendship among ourselves, And help us to share our opportunities as we share this meal.

For it and all thy bounty We are truly grateful, We ask in the name of thy Son who loves us all.
Amen.

The Piedmont Chapter # 109 - Region 11

In order to services the members of NAWIC better the Chapters are divided in Regions and have regional conventions, meetings, educational opportunities, contest and committees. The chapters located through-out Virginia, North and South Carolina and Coastal Georgia make up Region 11.

The local chapter of NAWIC was sponsored by the Durham Chapter on July 17, 1965 as the Greater Greensboro Chapter number 109. Ms. Julia McLawhorn was elected as the first president and held the office for 2 years. The Greater Greensboro Chapter served women working in all fashions of the construction industry through-out Greensboro

As the Chapter grew through the years, women from surrounding areas have joined the NAWIC. In 2007, the chapter name was changed to The Piedmont Chapter 109, due to the number of women joining from areas through-out the Piedmont Triad area.

In 2008, we began a mission to grow our local chapter and make sure that all women working in the construction industry know about NAWIC and the opportunities it has to offer. Our local chapter offers networking and educational opportunities to members and other women in all facets of the construction industry. We have women that work in all position from business owners to administrative professionals and we are all happy to help answer any questions you may have. Our members lean to each other in times of need whether it’s professional questions or need to know information.  The women of NAWIC are here to support you, not only in your professional lives but in your personal lives as well.

NAWIC is the voice of women in construction around the world and The Piedmont Chapter is the voice for women in construction through-out the Piedmont Triad Area of North Carolina.
